Thank You Notes
I needed to make up some quick and simple thank you notes for the Christmas gifts I received.
I really enjoy making my own cards if I have the time instead of going out and buying them.
One - Most cards are ridiculously expensive
Two - Handmade are so much more personal and special
I found this example and thought it would be easy to recreate.
and here is what my card turned out like
Here are most of the products I used:
Starting from the top left:
* Stampin' Up Noteworthy Wooden Stamp Set
*Marvy Square Punch 2 1/2"
*Stampin' Up Simply Soft Unmounted Stamp Set
*Stampin' Up Lucky Limeade Ink Pad
*Stampin' Up Dazzling Details Glitter Glue
*Stampin' Up Whisper White and Lucky Limeade Card Stock
*Stampin' Up Tag Punch
Not Pictured Products:
*Stippling Brush used for Stenciling
*Adhesive Runner
*Double Sided Foam Tape
I started with the Whisper White card stock and made a blank card
To create the background I used the square punch and created a stencil out of plain paper.
I then picked up ink from the Lucky Limeade ink pad with the stippling brush. Before touching the card I lightly brushed off on scrap paper to make sure there wasn't too much ink. I then held down the stencil and lightly in circular and pouncing motions filled in the area.
Next I used a flower stamp from the Simply Soft stamp set. These stamps are unmounted so to use them you need to put it on a clear glass mounting block. This type of stamp is great because it clings right to the glass and you can see through it to know exactly where you are stamping.
I used the tag punch with the Lucky Limeade card stock. I then cut a small piece of the Whisper White card stock that fit within the tag. I used a Thank You stamp from the Noteworthy stamp set which is the traditional wooden mounted rubber stamp. I used the Lucky Limeade ink pad to stamp the sentiment.
I attached the sentiment to the green tag with an adhesive runner. Then to give it dimension on the back of the tag I used foam tape that is double sided.
I used glitter glue to make the flowers sparkle.
and the finished product :)
